A more sustainable and just future requires a new social contract: the Green
New Deal demands a new beginning and encompasses not only the climate, but also health, education, jobs, fair pay, affordable
housing, intergenerational equity, abolition of social injustice and fair working and living conditions. To achieve all this,
everyone is needed. Worldwide. But what are the global perspectives on this socio-ecological change? Every other year, the
Canadian Climate Change Theatre Action calls 50 authors from around the world to write a short play. The short pieces from
this year, under the title "Envisioning a Global Green New Deal", tell stories about our present fights with climate changes
or imagine a future in which a Global Green New Deal has already become a reality.
