We are moving into the open right now, not knowing where the journey is going. This creates great fears and uncertainties. No one knows if the crises that are defining our lives at the moment will be resolved in a good way. "Come! Into the open, friend!" Hölderlin calls out to us. He calls on us to leave behind the narrowness, also in our thinking, and to set out for places where lust for life, joy and friends give us strength and allow us to overcome all heaviness. Thus, it is not the gloomy, the destructive that triumphs, but life, against all factuality. This is what the festival and all the participating theatre-makers and authors are about.
